One major goal of Tinalak is to educate the community and provide scholarly contributions on Filipinos and education.

In 2022, the Tinalak Council shared a report with the Hawaii State Legislators on the status of K-12 education to support House Concurrent Resolution 56, which requested the Hawaii DOE to implement a social studies elective course on FIlipino history, culture and identity. Contents of this report were also used to contribute to the overall Pamantasan Report on Filipinos and Higher education as a result of Senate Concurrent Resolution 132.
