CREDE Professional Development at Kailua Elementary (opens in a new window)

We provided professional development on the CREDE model to the faculty at Kailua Elementary School. We also provided professional development to Kailuaʻs instructional coaches so that they could continue to develop the model at their school.

We provided professional development on the CREDE model to the faculty at ‘Aikahi Elementary School. The school selected CREDE as their focal instructional strategies.

CREDE Professional Development at Blanche Pope Elementary (opens in a new window)
2014 – 2016
For two years, we worked with the faculty at Blanche Pope Elementary School. We provided workshops and coaching to all teachers at the school, who learned to implement the CREDE model in their classes.

University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa Children’s Center (opens in a new window)
2006 – 2016
We worked with educators at the Children’s Center to adapt the CREDE Standards for early childhood education and to develop the Center as a CREDE demonstration site. Together, we created an instrument (the ECE-7 Rubric) to measure the CREDE Standards in early childhood classrooms.

Tunngaviit: Greenland Project (opens in a new window)
2007 – 2015
The Ministry of Education of Greenland adopted the CREDE Standards as the basis of school reform from preschool to high education. Our staff collaborated with Greenlandic educators and policy makers to assist them in integrating the CREDE model in their schools and early childhood centers. CREDE is called Tunngaviit in Greenland.

We developed place-based science curricula that integrated the CREDE Standards for early childhood in collaboration with several schools across the State of Hawai‘i.

2011 – 2014
We developed a course for a graduate certificate in early childhood at the University of Hawai‘i College of Education. Teachers taught in early childhood elementary classrooms at Hawai‘i Department of Education P-3 demonstration sites. They learned to use the CREDE Standards and were coached in their classrooms.

CREDE Professional Development at Kamaile Academy (opens in a new window)
2011 – 2013
We collaborated with this public charter school located on the leeward side on the island of O‘ahu. The student population was primarily Native Hawaiian. We worked with several teachers in grades K-9 to promote educators’ use of the CREDE strategies for effective pedagogy.

2009 – 2011
Funded by Kamehameha Schools, we extended our CREDE professional development to more K-12 teachers, who worked on O‘ahu, Hawai‘i Island, Maui, and Moloka‘i. We also conducted research to evaluate the professional development.

2006 – 2008
We provided CREDE professional development to K-12 teachers who worked with Native Hawaiian students on O‘ahu and the neighbor islands. The program involved workshops and instructional coaching.
