The Summer Global Educational Leaders (GEL) Graduate Course Sequence is a cohorted online professional development training designed for educators and educational leaders, pre-service and/or in-service at P-20 levels worldwide. GEL offers current teachers and educators a focused training and development on the most important global educational values, pedagogies, issues, and trends in connection with daily educational practices. Participants take two graduate courses (6 credits), which may be applied toward the EDEF master’s or doctoral program with official admission, as well as to other graduate programs in higher educational institutions worldwide.

Program Goals
  • To transform educators from classroom teachers to inspiring global educators;
  • To develop teachers as creative and effective leaders;
  • To foster multicultural competency to teach with quality and equity;
  • To guide teachers to be practitioner scholars and researchers;
  • To collaborate innovatively with fellow teachers and educators around the world; and
  • To establish a global leader network, community, and support group.
Admission Requirements

An Undergraduate Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

A transcript from each post-secondary institution attended.

A written statement of objectives as part of your application.

Applicants who are not native English speakers may need to take the TOEFL or IELTS (Academic) tests. For more information view the Graduate Division website.

International students that have been admitted are required to submit a copy of their Identification documents (i.e. Passport or Identification Card)

International applicants need to show proof of sufficient funding to cover all educational and living expenses
