Current Position
I am a student assistant for Financial Aid Services.

How did you become interested in the field of KRS?
Being physically active has definitely fueled my passion for understanding how the human body works. I remember the first time I experienced shin splints, running track and field. In addition to the pain, I felt completely helpless, and this sparked my desire to help reduce the pain that others may endure as a result of physical activity.

Why is going to college important to you?
I believe that college, and education itself, has given me a foundation for my beliefs and a platform to make a difference in my community because it has given me a voice that others are willing to listen to.

Are there any people or courses that have impacted you along the way?
I am really enjoying Olympic Powerlifting this semester because; although it is a challenge, I know I am stronger mentally and physically than I was the first day of class.

What do you hope to do with your degree?
I plan to enroll in a graduate physical therapy program on the mainland to become a licensed Physical Therapist and provide healthcare services back in Hawai‛i.

What do you hope to contribute to the field?
I hope to apply the knowledge I have gained from my experiences as well as the KRS program to rehabilitate patients by alleviating their pain and helping them regain their mobility.

What are your future plans?
In the future, I hope to own a wellness and fitness center that provides affordable rates for low income families.

I'm interested in learning more about a degree or certificate in Kinesiology and Rehabilitation Science.
