The Bachelor of Education in Secondary Education (BEd-Secondary) is designed for students who wish to obtain eligibility for license to teach grades 6-12 in a content area. The program offers a cohesive, standards- and field-based experience that encourages teacher candidates to integrate educational theory and practice in cooperating secondary schools. Upon successful completion of the program, students will be recommended to the Hawaiʻi Teacher Standards Board (HTSB) for initial teacher licensure.
The Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Teacher Education in Secondary Education program (PBCTE-Secondary) welcomes busy professionals from the neighbor islands who hold a bachelor’s degree and find time and distance constraints of furthering an on-campus degree too difficult.
