‘Aina-based in a Hybrid Space
Talk Story / Paper
‘Aina-based in a Hybrid Space will create a learning environment for biology and natural resources students to learn about wellness, food security and sustainability, and the engineering design process on-campus and in digital spaces. We understand that our school year will be anything but typical. Thus, we plan to engage in proactive and creative uses of time, sweat equity, and technology to develop our students into environmental stewards and mindful public servants. Through campus aquaponics development, greenhouse redesign, and technology integration, students will learn how to start farm-to-table initiatives on both personal and commercial scales. This work can be transferred to both home implementation for wellness and food security, as well as career trajectories to invest in community efforts for economic sustainability.
