Authentic Assessments within ʻĀina-Based Lessons

This session will compare authentic assessments to traditional assessments and address the importance of utilizing authentic assessments for ʻāina-based lessons. Participants will be provided with a step-by-step authentic assessment design tool and examples of authentic assessments that were designed for Kōkua Hawaii Foundations ʻĀINA In Schools Curriculum. In an effort to create a community voice, participants will be asked to provide feedback on the usability and structure of the provided examples and discuss areas for improvement.
