Title
CANCELED: The opportunity and obstacles for creating new normals in science education
Type
Talk Story / Paper
Description
While ongoing issues like the pandemic, racial unrest, and climate crisis have sparked many science educators to consider how social issues and concepts can be addressed in science classrooms there has been an equal (if not stronger) pushback against anti-racist curriculum and frameworks like critical race theory being taught in schools and universities. This session will engage participants in both the opportunities and obstacles for science education as a context for social justice.
