Culturally Relevant STEM Education in Early Childhood classrooms
Talk Story / Paper
In this session, we will explore the critical importance of culturally relevant STEM education for young children. Our presentation will focus on a systematic literature review with a specific emphasis on culturally responsive STEM education in early childhood education, which is a subject that has not been widely explored. During the session, we will provide practical examples of how to incorporate culturally relevant STEM education into early childhood education settings, and we will make connections to the STEMS^2 pillars of Makawalu, and Advocacy. Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of the importance of culturally responsive STEM education and practical strategies for implementing it in their own classrooms or educational settings for young children.
