Title

A math intervention with promise: Insights and findings from a practitioner-researcher partnership

Type

Talk Story / Paper

Description

Working within the Hawaiʻi Education Research Network, this session presents research that studied the extent to which a tier 2 intervention program focused on developing math fact fluency supported student success with on-grade level content. Initiated by a small, rural school in the Hawaii Department of Education who developed the Tier 2 intervention, researchers at the University of Hawaiʻi partnered with school personnel to study the effects of the program. A mixed methods approach was used to describe the design and implementation of the intervention and determine the programʻs effectiveness for grade 2-6 students. Come and hear about the schoolʻs journey and provide feedback on the program design.
