School of Teacher Education (STE) Associate Professor Monica Smith is the co-principal investigator of a $1.2 million National Science Foundation (NSF) grant project with UH West Oʻahu (UHWO). The project, Culturally Responsive Education and Teaching Empowerment (CREATE), will develop culturally responsive secondary math teachers to serve Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander students in high-need schools across Hawaiʻi.
