The U.S. Department of Labor has awarded the state of Hawaiʻi a $4.9 million State Apprenticeship Expansion Formula grant to create the first statewide registered apprenticeship program for K–12 teachers. The College of Education (COE) will play a major role in this groundbreaking initiative that addresses teacher shortage in the state.
