How to Apply Instructions

Deadlines

New cohorts start only in even-year Fall semesters (Fall 2024, Fall 2026, etc). Application deadlines are as follows:

  • February 1: Priority Deadline
  • March 1: Final Deadline (Note: Deadline has been extended until April 1 for Fall 2024 admissions)

Apply to the College of Education via COE Mākālei:

  • Program: BEd, Early Childhood & Early Childhood SPED
  • Semester: Fall (Year)
  • Delivery Option: Statewide (online/hybrid)

Follow the instructions and prompts on COE Makalei. Once you begin your application, more detailed information, including tips & tricks for completing the application will be emailed to you.

Apply for UH Mānoa Admissions:

If you are not already a student at UH Mānoa, you must also complete the UH Mānoa Admissions application (currently enrolled UHM students can skip this step): https://manoa.hawaii.edu/admissions/apply/

  • Application Term: Fall (Year)
  • Planned Course of Study: Elementary Education-BEd
  • Application fee: The application fee is now waived for Hawai‘i residents. Non-residents will pay $70.

Transcripts

Official transcripts must be submitted directly from your college or university to UH Mānoa. You are required to submit transcripts from each post-secondary institution you have attended (excluding any University of Hawaiʻi System institution). Unofficial, faxed, hand-carried, or student copies of academic documents will not be accepted.
