On March 14, 2018, “Pi Day,” Professor of Mathematics Education Linda Furuto was featured on Hawai’i Public Radio’s All Things Considered. The interview centers around the new Ethnomathematics Graduate Certificate program in the College of Education Department of Curriculum Studies. Ethnomathematics is the integration of Indigenous wisdom and 21st century learning by real-world problem-solving of mathematics that is relevant, contextualized, and sustainable. The program marks the first of its kind in the world.
