Multiple Pathways

With multiple pathways for students, summer courses can be applied to the graduate certificate, which can be applied to the master’s program!

Summer to G Cert to Masters

  • 3 Credits Separately or
    6 Credits Combined*
  • SLS 680U: Introduction to Multilingualism Multiculturalism
  • EDCS/SLS 644: Multilingual/ EL Pedagogy
  • Online Synchronous

* Courses satisfy six credit hours Sheltered Instruction SIQ TESOL and HQ TESOL Requirements.

HIDOE funding is available to cover the cost of courses. Apply for SIQ or HQ from the Institutions of Higher Education Scholarship Program.

  • Five (5) courses or 15 Credits
  • Interdisciplinary program
  • Capstone Project
  • 1 year/hybrid

Students may be eligible to add a TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) Licensure Add-a-Field to their existing Hawaiʻi state teaching license upon the successful completion of the MMPP.
