The Student Affiliate Program is a highly sought after, competitive program available to all University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa graduate students. Student Affiliates are able to take advantage of the valuable resources at the East-West Center to support their academic and professional goals. The Student Affiliate Program provides an opportunity to engage, interact, and live with the Center’s degree fellows, scholars, and other participants from across the U.S. and more than 50 countries. For many students, these relationships have proved to be instrumental in helping to establish valuable networks that extend into future careers or other endeavors. The program is open to students from all countries that have research interests relating to the Asia Pacific region. Preference is given to those with an outstanding academic record and a commitment to community service.

To begin as a Student Affiliate in the SPRING semester, the deadline is November 1.
To begin as a Student Affiliate in the FALL semester, the deadline is May 15.
