How to Apply Instructions

Submit Graduate Division Application

• Submit UHM Graduate Application – click on “Apply Here”
  • Select Program Evaluation – Graduate Certificate (Selected Term)
• Complete all four sections
  • Personal Information
  • Academic History
  • Supporting Information
    • ‘Documents’ section: If you have a copy of your unofficial transcripts you would like to include, you can upload it here, otherwise select “I Am Not Adding Any Documents”
    • Note: International students may need to submit English proficiency test scores. See below for more information.
  • Program Materials
    • Supplemental Material #1: Statement of Purpose and Research Experience
      • Statement of Purpose and Research Experience: Provide a two to three page statement of purpose that address the following aspects:
        • Program Interest: Discuss your interest in the Program Evaluation Graduate Certificate in Educational Psychology. Explain what specific skills and knowledge you hope to gain through this program.
        • Research Skills and Experience: Describe your skills and experiences related to program evaluation. Detail any relevant coursework or training you have completed in this area.
        • Goals: Briefly describe how this Graduate Certificate aligns with your academic or career aspirations.
    • Supplemental Material #2: Curriculum Vitae or Resumé. Attach your vitae or summary of your academic and career development to date.
    • Supplemental Material #3: References. Provide the names and contact information for two academic references.
  • Submit application and pay $100 Application fee
  • Send Official transcripts from each post-secondary institution attended (except for UH system transcripts)

Note: International Students may need to submit additional requirements, such as:

• Applicants who are not native English speakers may need to take the TOEFL, IELTS (Academic), Duolingo English Test or Cambridge English tests. We require the minimum score to be the Required Minimum Scores for ELI Placement Test Exemption as stated on the Graduate Division website. For more information on the standardized exams, view the Graduate Division Standardized Exam website.
• Admitted international students are required to complete a Confidential Financial Statement, which includes identification documents and show proof of sufficient funding. More information can be found at: https://manoa.hawaii.edu/graduate/forms/
