About
This project is contracted by the Human Services Research Institute (HSRI) to conduct an evaluation study of the Hawaii Department of Health, Developmental Disabilities Division (DOH-DDD) about their current status of home and community-based services provided to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The DOH-DDD implemented a series of initiatives starting in 2016 to adjust the type and quality of services and support provided to constituents.
For this project, the Center on Disability Studies (CDS) team will lead the qualitative study on the impacts of DOH-DDD change initiatives on people—waiver participants and other key stakeholders. These impacts will be explored through focus groups and key informant interviews. Our aim is to highlight the voices from people who receive services, family members, caregivers, case managers, direct support professionals, and service providers.
