On March 19, 2016, the Association for Educational Communications and Technology Hawaiʻi chapter affiliate, coordinated by faculty and graduate students from the College of Education Department of Learning Design and Technology (LTEC), and Hawaiian Hope hosted the Minecraft Feast: Feeding the Minds and Bodies of our Homeless Keiki service project at the Mā‘ili Internet Café in Wai‘anae. Run by Peter Leong, LTEC Associate Professor, the Minecraft Feast service project aimed to feed the minds of homeless keiki by immersing them in a curriculum-based Minecraft hands-on lesson, conducted by Shane Asselstine of Momilani Elementary School, and also to provide a nutritious lunch.
