We are very proud to announce that Youxin Zhang, a current LTEC PhD student, was featured in the news story “Educators are still trying to navigate the world of online teaching during the pandemic” by KITV News. Youxin is one of the instructional designers from the Instructional Design & Support Group at the Center for Excellence in Learning, Teaching, and Technology at Kapiolani Community College (KCC).

The Instructional Design & Support Group was founded to address immediate needs for classes to swiftly move online due to the COVID-19 situation. The group consists of a team of teachers to help other teachers teach using their computers. Amidst the current pandemic, their team has assisted more that 100 faculty members with the transition from in-person to virtual instruction, and are continuing to provide suggestions to make the online courses more engaging and enjoyable. Visit KITV News for the full story.

“Our role is more like to teach or educate faculty how to teach with integration of technology, all kinds of technology for K-12, higher education and how they can make the class more engaging” – Youxin Zhang
