Current LTEC Master’s or Doctoral Students:

Apply to the UH Manoa Graduate Division via the online application portal and pay the mandatory application fee of $100 (non-refundable). The UHM Graduate Division will recognize your status as a current student and will designate you as a concurrent student upon your acceptance into the COLT program.

Non-LTEC Students & LTEC Alumni:

1. Submit the UH Manoa Graduate Division Application

All students applying for any graduate program at the University of Hawaii at Manoa are required by the UHM Graduate Division to submit the following documents. All of the UHM Graduate Division Application materials are sent directly to the UHM Graduate Division and are handled solely by the UHM Graduate Division. All inquiries about the UHM Graduate Division Application should be directed to Graduate Division Student Services.

• UHM Online Graduate Division Application
  1. Create and log in to your Graduate Division online account
  2. In the “Add Program” section, type in the search bar, “Online Learning & Teaching Graduate Certificate” and select the option with the correct start term (i.e: Spring, Summer, Fall)
  3. Application fee $100 (non-refundable)
• Graduated from a UHM recognized, accredited, four-year institution of higher education prior to beginning the LTEC COLT program
• Undergraduate Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Official Transcripts from each post-secondary institution attended (except for UH system transcripts)
• Residency Declaration Form (Hawaii residents only)
• International Students Only
  • TOEFL, IELTS or Duolingo English Test Scores
  • Copy of Identification Documents (i.e. Passport or Identification Card)
  • International Student Financial Statement Form 

2. Submit to The Department of Learning Design and Technology 

Please submit the following program-specific application materials directly to The Department of Learning Design and Technology through Mākālei.

• Statement of Objectives (Statement of Objectives Guide)
• CV (Resume)
• Intent to Apply Survey (located on Mākālei)
• Transfer Credits (Optional)
  • If you believe previous LTEC electives you have taken may count toward the certificate, please indicate those courses on the Petition to Transfer Credits Form.
