COEAA Spotlight on Kevin Agtarap
The UH Mānoa College of Education Alumni Association (COEAA) is excited to share that Kevin Agtarap, a Computer Science teacher at Kaʻimiloa Elementary School, has been selected to participate in the prestigious Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms program for the 2024–2025 cycle. This Fulbright award, granted by the U.S. Department of State and the Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board, recognizes outstanding educators who are dedicated to integrating global competencies into their classrooms.
Kevin is among over 800 U.S. citizens who will teach, study, and/or conduct research abroad. He will join educators, scholars, and professionals in exploring new educational frontiers and expanding their professional networks. The Fulbright Program is renowned for fostering collaboration and exchange between nations, with many participants continuing research, forming new partnerships, and encouraging global learning upon their return.
The Fulbright Program, the U.S. government’s flagship international educational exchange initiative, has supported more than 400,000 participants from over 160 countries since 1946. Alumni of the program include leaders and innovators from all fields, including 62 Nobel laureates and 89 Pulitzer Prize recipients.
