    Brief Biography

    Barbara is the Director of the Curriculum Research & Development Group in the College of Education. Her research is focused in mathematics education with an emphasis on supporting students who struggle, especially in the field of algebraic concepts and skills. Dr. Dougherty began her educational career in special education (BSE in Special Education from Northeast Missouri State University) before completing a Masters in Mathematics. Her doctorate degree was awarded in mathematics education from the University of Missouri.
