    Brief Biography

    Paul R. Brandon, PhD, has conducted educational program evaluations, research on program evaluation, and educational research since 1977. He received his doctorate in educational psychology from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 1983. After serving as an assessment developer for the City and County of Honolulu and as a program evaluator for Kamehameha Schools (also in Honolulu), he took his current position in Curriculum Research & Development Group, College of Education, University of Hawaii at Manoa, where he is a professor of education and a member of the graduate faculty of the Department of Educational Psychology. He provides research and evaluation services to his program-development colleagues, teaches evaluation courses, and chairs dissertation and thesis committees. He has been the principal investigator for grants and contracts totaling about $6M, authored about 50 refereed journal articles, co-authored one book and co-edited another, prepared about 175 evaluation and technical reports, and is Editor-in-Chief of New Directions for Evaluation. He has won two national best-evaluation awards from the American Educational Research Association (AERA), and, in 2011, he was designated as a distinguished scholar by the AERA Research on Evaluation Special Interest Group.
