    Brief Biography

    Linda C. H. Venenciano is an Associate Professor in the Curriculum Research & Development Group. She works with the mathematics team on K-12 curriculum projects and professional development for teachers. Her research focuses on children's development of mathematical concepts that contribute to the successful study of algebra. Venenciano is a co-founder of the Math Teachers’ Circle of Hawai‘i, a statewide professional learning community for mathematics educators. She has also developed strong partnerships with the Hawaii Department of Education. Her current projects include designing and conducting professional development for middle school teachers around the Common Core Standards for Mathematical Practice, and developing algebra curriculum for struggling learners.
