Associate Specialist Eōmailani K. Kukahiko and Assistant Professor Kahunawai Wright are collaborating with Lunalilo Home Residential Care for kūpuna (elders) of all ethnicities, as well as Pūnana Leo o Mānoa preschool, to help gather much needed food and supplies for our kūpuna. On behalf of ʻĀinahou, a group of Native Hawaiian faculty members in the College of Education (COE), Kukahiko and Wright have been reaching out to the college and larger community to collect various items that the care home needs as their supplies diminish and families and loved ones are unable to visit.
A drop-off box is located in the COE Dean’s Office in Everly Hall 128. The next pickup is scheduled for Friday, March 27, by noon. Please call the office at 956-7703 to make sure the building will be open. If you are interested in donating after this date, please reach out to Eōmailani at eomai@hawaii.edu or Kahunawai at ewright@hawaii.edu.
