Career options with a background in KRS range from education to health care. Undergraduate preparation is in two primary areas, Health and Physical Education and Health and Exercise Science. Areas of study include but are not limited to preparation for athletic training, physical therapy, occupational therapy, rehabilitation counseling, sport nutrition, sport psychology, personal training, or exercise physiology.
At the graduate level, advanced knowledge is provided for professionals in the following areas: Post-Professional Advanced Athletic Training, Physical Education, Adapted Physical Education and Rehabilitation Counseling. Athletic Trainer certification can be earned through the Entry Level Graduate Athletic Training Education program. If interested in earning teaching certification, a post baccalaureate certificate is offered in Physical Education, K-12.
